We will begin our vacation in the southeast, passing through the Middle Atlas via Ifrane, Morocco’s “Switzerland,” and then on to Azrou, where we will visit the famed cedar forest, Morocco’s largest, to see and play with Barbary apes. . We keep heading south from here, passing through several cities and having the opportunity to see nomads living in tents on the road to Midelt for lunch.After lunch we will continue our voyage through the Atlas Mountains. You'll spend most of the day exploring beautiful forests, springs, jagged rock faces and Berber settlements all the way to Errachidia, the gateway to the desert, and finally Erfoud.

After breakfast in the riad. You’ll go to the Gnawa people, who were originally brought from Sudan as slaves, to learn about their culture and music. The Merzouga Lake, with its diverse bird population, is not far distant. In the afternoon, you will mount your camel and be taken by an experienced camel man through Merzouga’s sand-sea. Dinner will be served in the berber tent where you will spend the night. The camp is equipped with western bathrooms for your convenience.

After breakfast at the hotel, we head towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate through the Dades Valley, or Asif N'dades to Tamazight (Berber).The path through the Dades valley is known as the Thousand Kasbah path, and it offers many opportunities to capture some of the best photos of your trip.

We’ll make a pit stop in Kalaat Mgouna, dubbed “the Rose City,” to buy rosewater, which will keep your linen smelling fresh long after your trip is ended. Continue to Ouarzazate via the Amridil Kasbah, home to many Glaoui people and one of the last Berber chieftains in the 18th century. Ouarzazate is where you will spend the night.

Following an early breakfast in the riad, we set off on our journey to Ait Ben Haddou’s ksar (fortified settlement), where we will see the famed Kasbah (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz have all been filmed on this magnificent stage. Following our visit to the kasbah, we will travel to Marrakech over the Tizi Ntichka pass. This is our country’s highest point, at 2.260m. At the end of the afternoon, we’ll check into your riad within the Medina, taking in the lovely scenery from the overlooks along the way and stopping to photograph the berber settlements.
